Dr. Miriam Hoover is an academic leader, educator, and program administrator with extensive experience in higher education, student success, and research development. She brings a strong background in curriculum design, academic operations, and university partnership engagement.
Miriam currently serves as Assistant Dean in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities at the University of West Florida, where she oversees academic programs, student success initiatives, and continuing education efforts. She also leads the Bachelor of General Studies program, supporting diverse student populations and interdisciplinary learning pathways.
Her experience spans multiple leadership roles within the university, including graduate admissions, academic advising, and departmental operations across English, Art, and Theatre. She has also served as an instructor for several years, teaching American history, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary coursework.
Miriam’s academic work focuses on early American history, cultural studies, and social history, with research interests that include women’s history, literature, and historical interpretation. She has presented at academic conferences and contributed to published historical research.
She holds advanced degrees in curriculum and instruction and continues doctoral work, reflecting her commitment to education, research, and leadership development. Her background also includes certifications in leadership, cross-cultural competency, and AI in the workplace, strengthening her ability to support modern, forward-thinking academic programs.
At Viviscent Wellness Foundation, Miriam supports academic programming, research initiatives, and university partnerships. She works closely with grant teams and institutional partners to build programs that align education, housing, and community development, helping expand the foundation’s reach through academic collaboration.
